LinkAja to Against The Domination of GoPay and OVO in Indonesia


Based on the new research from Financial Times and Daily Social with OJK (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan) that GoPay is the leading of server based emoney in Indonesia and followed by OVO and then TCash.

The penetration of GoPay and OVO is very spectacular, only less than 3 years GoPay and OVO become the market leader. The success of Gopay because it was supported by Gojek. While OVO cooperates with Tokopedia and Grab.

Since the end of last year, the Ministry of BUMN (state-owned company) has pushed TCash and Himbara emoney to become as single platform named LinkAja, and will be soft launched on February 21, 2019.

The operation LinkAja is under PT Fintek Karya Nusantara (Finarya) Entity. At the moment Telkomsel has 99% of the shares, and then in April 2019, Mandiri Bank, BNI Bank, BRI Bank, BTN, Pertamina, Jiwasraya, and Danareksa will join and become stakeholders.

For the first step, TCash users will be migrate to LinkAja. The process of Tcash migration will be finished on March 31, 2019, and followed by the migration users of Mandiri ecash, Tbank, UnikQu and My Pertamina.
