Android to dominate the Asia-Pacific

In five major groups, only Android and BlackBerry OS that is able to increase market share in Asia Pacific in 2010 smartphone. Symbian also lost the largest share since reaching the lowest growth.

Although a newcomer to the smartphone operating system market, the Android operating system from Google Inc. apparently significant role in the industry. Estimates research firm Canalys Ltd., Android will become the main driver of smartphone sales volume growth in Asia Pacific in 2010.

Canalys predicts, smartphone sales volume in Asia Pacific in 2010 will grow 52.8 percent to 76.7 million units, from 50.2 million units in 2009.
