One Voice Initiative for SMS and Voice Solutions in LTE

The company is AT & T, Orange, Telefonica, TeliaSonera, Verizon, Vodafone, Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Nokia Siemens Networks, Motorola, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., and Sony Ericsson. They have developed a technical profile of the voice and SMS services LTE, which is also known as the One Voice initiative. The profile set out optimal functionality with the existing 3GPP specifications.

Solution-based IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), as defined by 3GPP, is the most appropriate approach to be applied to meet customer expectations in quality, reliability and availability of services when moving from circuit switched telephony services to service today, IP-based LTE. This approach will also pave the way towards a convergence of services, because the IMS network capable of serving the broadband cable and wireless LTE networks simultaneously.
